Taking A Risk Poem by Scarred Unknown

Taking A Risk

As I sit down to write
I think of you,
And a warm feeling
Spreads through me.
With a light
To my right,
No more sitting in fright.
Your words to my left,
On the front of a screen.

I look at the paper
In front of me.
Realizing there is nothing
Sad left in me.
You’ve taken it out,
And even the doubt,
Is replaced
With something else.

A feeling I don’t recognize
A feeling I don’t know
A feeling warm and fuzzy…
Wait, I thought it was just show!

I’ve got to get my guard up
And have to keep it there,
I can’t give in to this again.
I’m too tired to be hurt again,
But too tired to resist anymore.

I’m so comfortable with you,
I don’t know what to do.
Everything seems at ease.
To feel with you,
Is too easy.

I don’t want to be alone,
So I’m going to let go.
Don’t care where I land,
I’m taking a risk
And jumping head first,
Right off the cliff.
