The grass used to be a luscious green,
But now that beauty cannot be seen.
The ground and water have gone dry,
Because there is no moisture in the sky.
Animals are starving and dying of thirst,
There are no rain clouds ready to burst.
It's starting to look like desert sand,
All across this once beautiful land.
Nobody can bear this extreme heat,
And we're all starting to feel defeat.
Most people are beginning to doubt,
That there will be an end to this drought.
This record heat is taking its toll,
And it's beginning to wear on the soul.
What we really need to stop this pain,
Is for us to receive a little rain.
