Take Your Stance Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Take Your Stance

Even if there are dreams you may chase,
Try to understand that it is not a race.
Pursue your goals at your own set pace,
So that you'll always be in the perfect place.

Sometimes life may take you on an endless quest,
And there are times that you'll be put to the test.
Just remember to always do your best,
But be sure to allow yourself some rest.

You may get pushed to the point you feel you'll break,
And you'll have had everything that you take.
Always recall what is truly at stake,
To help with all the decisions you'll make.

You may often have to burden a heavy toll,
In order for you to accomplish your goal.
As you search down deep into your soul,
All of these burdens can help make you whole.

Every once in a while, you should turn and glance,
At where you've been as you took a chance.
The decisions you made and every circumstance,
Has led you to where you'll take your stance.
