Taking No Chance Poem by Ima Ryma

Taking No Chance

While walking in the woods I be
Coming upon a doe with faun.
And I watch them while they watch me,
A connecting phenomenon.
The story, Bambi, comes to mind,
And how all deer have to beware
Presence of any humankind,
With danger ever lurking there.
I watch in the eyes of the doe.
Do I pose a threat to her faun?
She does not take a chance to know,
And in a flash they both are gone.

I walk on, knowing time will tell
Whether doe and faun will fare well.
