Taste Of Heaven Poem by Judy Jones

Taste Of Heaven

Rating: 5.0

I ponder down this luminescent stream
The reflecting light is quite mesmerizing
But I still manage to close my eyes
and breathe it in
The waves gently crash against my canoe until we synchronize
The birds singing sweet melodies
The sun's pentrating warmth
awakens my my soul

I lay back
and let the rays shimmer across every curve
I reach out
and let my hand glide across the welcoming water
An electrifying chill crawls across my skin
Every muscle grows tense
Emotions grab deeper
The afternoon sun grows intense
My soul is pounding to be set free
And then..
A calming breeze whispers to me
I steal it's breath and settle back into it's tender arms
I open my eyes and look deep into the blue
I'm so close to heaven
I can still taste it on my lips
