Tea. Poem by Tom Allport

Tea.

My wife whose name is similar to bat
Is a lovely woman without her hat
She likes her tea with no lumps just milk
I often give her a wink
Each day comes and each day goes
My, my wife has lovely toes
And she wears socks to stop the cold
And has her hair in streaks of gold
I do think she would like mink
Wrapped around her shoulders bare
Cosy and warm in a fireside chair
Whilst, masticating on a raspberry puff
Straight from a cake box, said one is never enough
Now content and dying for tea
Out goes the cry, time for rosy lee

Rosie Lee is Cockney slang for Tea. Cup of Rosie luv? Rosie Lee (or Rosy Lee) is one of the most well-known of all Cockney slang. so, you speak Cockney slang? Tom says to Pat: Sweetheart, my wink is less expensive than mink! Pat says to Tom: A raspberry puff! I said RASPBERRY PIE, but this puff's enough. contentment at home is a treasure! ! bri (:

Very whimsical. The importance of tea and cake can never be overstated.
