Tears Poem by Emily Gurdon

How many insults must you endure
before you can stand it no longer?
I am not a toy to be pushed into the ground.

How many people have to lash out at you
before you reply in kind?
You don't understand how far you are going.

Do you think that because i don't show it
That your words don't upset me?
I know how to keep my emotions inside

How long can you hold the pain inside
without letting anyone know your hurting?
It is only when you are gone, that the tears start to fall
