Tears Dry On Their Own Poem by Alfred Ramos

Tears Dry On Their Own

Rating: 5.0

Tonight the pillow is wet
But by tomorrow you will forget

It’s something I should have known
To know that tears dry on their own

I tried so hard to please
And all I got is faded memories

Broken dream all gone to waste
Cherished moments simply erased

That salty taste reaches my lips
A numb feeling at my fingertips

I could have died and no one know
Of the sorrow from the tears that flow

But I should have known
Always, tears dry on their own

Sometimes the heart completely ignores
Common sense, be it mine, be it yours

It opens up unknown doors
Taking us down on all fours

We don’t always get up from the fall
To see the truth, once and for all

It’s something I should have known
Yesterdays tears will dry on their own

Sensitive and touching Alfred...yes; yesterdays tears will dry today...only for eyes to shed tomorrow fresh tears...life has a sea of tears for all in store...10

Al, this is such a deeply felt, sensitively written poem. You've captured so well the lonely and difficult place, that each of us lives through, at some point of time.
