Tears In My Eyes Poem by Hebert Logerie

Tears In My Eyes

You can bravely or cowardly
Look at me, stare at me
I have water in my eyes
I do not need your prize
I do not want it
Give it to the sea
Or burn it.

Be true to me
That's all my heart desires
Laugh or cry with me
And mean it
Look deep to see
The burning fires
Which reside in me
From infancy to present
You wonder a lot
You smoke pot
And I don't
Read one comment
And you'll understand
Why I will always stand
With the disadvantaged and the poor
It is a war with a front
And a back
You can crack
Jokes all you want
You can never lure
Me to betray my pride
Respect and honor
Come under my tent
So I can tell you more
Even though I have water in my eyes
I don't care for your money, award and prize
Be true to me
Laugh or cry with me
And you'll understand
Where I firmly stand.

I found this so interesting, drawn in by your every line, especially liked, ... why I will always stand with the disadvantaged and the poor. I stand with you. PEACE
