It started as just another day
Folks going about their lives
Hugged their kids that morning
Kissed their husbands or wives
For the most part we felt safe
For how could we have known?
That our world would crash down
Like the airplanes that were flown
“If only...” was said over and over
But nothing could be changed
Folks snuffed out in a heartbeat
Lives forever rearranged
It changed the way we think now
Uncertainty does prevail
There are tears in our eyes thinking
About that day our safety failed!
