When I view
poems not too few
composed in 1972
by class poets here
tears roll in my eyes
sad for them
not me

none has commented

and all we think is
POETS are we

PERHAPS
in your case
I
only

The easiest commodity is writing
we all can compose
till the cows come home

but the most difficult
is this

To be able to sell yourself
your wisdom
your poem

that is like taking a horse
to the pond
but you can't make him
DRINK

Likewise offer wine
we all will come
ask to see your
printed INK

All will say
without exception

nice wine
fine
why pine
send your poem home
we shall try and see
when there is time

perhaps
some portions read may we..
