Tempest Poem by soren Barrett

Tempest

I feel a breeze its breath is uncertainty in the air
With pauses then swells in growing gasps of despair
Unseen but felt on my neck it unsettles hairs on my skin
A cold shudder crosses me but I won't let it in

My heart quickens with each creeping cold gust
Telling me a storm's brewing, find shelter I must
Head down I plunge onward into the wind
Thunder on the horizon shades of dark sins won't rescind

Bone foundations tremble, earth of muscle shakes
Clouded thoughts assemble, lightening, mind breaks
Silent stillness, deep darkness wounded time on the fly
Caught in a spiderweb hours bound, procrastination my only ally
