Ten Seconds Of Fame Poem by Francis Duggan

Ten Seconds Of Fame

Excepting Worldwide celebrities that billions know by name
'Tis said everyone enjoys ten seconds of fame
But ten seconds of fame doesn't seem much at all
For one in old age for to have to recall
The poor homeless souls from the far away town
Can only live for to daydream of renown
Without education and a postal address
What hope for them in life of any success
They are the people lady luck has passed by
Does ten seconds of fame to such people apply
If not so ten seconds of fame for everyone is a lie
Forgotten in life even before they die
And apart from celebrities 'tis said of every man and woman and girl and boy
That ten seconds of fame they are born to enjoy.
