Ten Years Poem by Randy McClave

Ten Years

In ten years you will still be on my mind
On how you treated me so unkind,
How you used and also stole from me
Ten years from now those memories I'll still see.
I'll still remember what you had done and said
Those words and thoughts will still echo in my head,
And not once though life's journey and safari
Not once from guilt or shame did you ever say, "sorry".
Remember, I was always there for you
With my love and my help and my money too,
Never did you have to plead or beg or ask
Being there for you then was always a happy task.
Sometimes I wonder how can you sleep at night
I wonder if you keep on your bedroom light,
So, you can keep the shadows and memories away
Do, you still not pray.
Are you scared and nervous to leave your home
Into different areas are you afraid to go or roam,
Are you scared to go to a store or to a restaurant or a bar
Because, someone will know what you did and who you are.
You will take your deeds and your acts to your grave
You will be remembered for the sins and lies you did and gave,
And when they speak your eulogy
They'll be no goodness, but only your sin and your cruelty.
In ten years I will have forgiven, but I will not have forgot
A lesson to me you have also taught,
I will still remember all your tricks and all your lies
While you were wearing and innocent disguise.
