Tenderness Poem by Susan Cook

Tenderness

So tender, so gentle your touch
Like your heart lived in your fingertips.

I felt like a newborn, like the most cherished possession without ownership.

So softly so preciously you loved me,
I felt like a miracle.

Your tender kisses on my face,
each one gave your heart,
each one full of your love.

I felt so very safe, like I belonged to you to care for.

Our most tender breath, mingled as one.
