Tension In The Society Poem by Claude Simpson

Tension In The Society

We move along daily
Like regulated robots
Rarely stopping to think

But sitting back and reflect
We realize that
The youngsters are on the brink.

Of course the crisis
Is in many ways
An extreme situation

But we have to try
And prioritize all the good things
And wipe out extortion.

To many, it doesn't matter;
Scared if you may
Head turning to shoulders

Whether ghetto or uptown;
Criminals are on the prowl
Within or outside the borders.

We at times may wonder
About the kind of world
Our children will grow to see.

Bad things are contagious
And good mentors are few
But our best effort is the key.

There is much
that we can do
To make the world safer.

A world great for our children
And forthcoming generations
A world that is better.
