Test Of A True Friend Poem by Bill Dureen

Test Of A True Friend

If I had money, would you help me spend it?
If a rule couldn't be broken, would you help me bend it?
If I found a lost puppy, would you help me befriend it?
If a judge were to sentence me, would you help me suspend it?
If I was in a bad relationship, would you help me end it?
If I had a low-rate mortgage, would you help me extend it?
If I won a major movie role, would you help me pretend it?
If I lived in a castle, would you help me defend it?
If I wanted to be boxing champ, would you help me contend it?
If there was food left over, would you help me blend it?
If I had a lawn mower, would you help me lend it?
If I had broken china, would you help me mend it?
If my car overturned, would you help me up-end it?

If you wanted to be married, would I be your intended?
