She was everything I could possibly dream of drapped in curls.
Yet in the beginning I couldn't comprehend the intricacies of her personality or the tales permeating from her eyes yet to be spoken.
Not because she liked to toy with my emotions or play games with my heart but because I was foolish.
I like a blind fool felt that her experiences which she seldom spoke of should be served to me on a silver platter ready to be consumed...
and the scars scattered across her heart should be instantly healed the moment she entered my arms for the very first time.
But like I said I was hopelessly blind and unbelievably foolish..
Like so many before me I failed to realize that the path to truly earn the love of a woman is no simple task and takes patience that many preach but few truly practice.
It's learning to tread carefully in the waters of her insecurities and being the air that fills her lungs the moment she feels like she is drowning.
Its sitting silently as she cries with all her heart, her face buried in your chest from the painful experiences of past loves that failed due to no fault of her own though she felt like she was the only cause.
Its more than simply saying she means the world to you without you willing to go through sacrifices or saying your gonna be a better man without trying to better yourself not only for her sake but more importantly for your own.
But most of all its being a man of your word and willing to weather the storm beside her regardless of how much the tempests try to tear you apart.
These were some of the hardest lessons I have ever had to learn in this life of mine and to be honest I have only truly just begun to scratch the surface.
But let me say thank you to the one love from which I truly became a student of these teachings.
I just want to say I love you for everything.
