they give hours, days, months and years
sometimes even their very lives
they do the unthinkable so we may stay comfortable
and time isn’t their only sacrifice
they give up homes, children and love
to fight on our behalf.
they give blood and limbs and life
so our children are safe
they give so much, we can never repay
except with honor and respect.
