Thank You Lord for this day
with both shadow and the sun
let me live it by Your word
as the day is being done
I greet the brilliance
of the sun with my cup of joe
savoring it's flavor
enjoying morning's show
thank you Lord for my health
for strength to face tomorrow
to overcome, and to endure
the passing wounds of sorrow
to filter out the evil
to quell the troubled heart
to keep the faith, embrace the truth
that's promised a new start
thank you Lord for this day
to honor You once more
giving glory to Your name
the name that I adore.
