That Black Page..... Poem by RIC BASTASA

That Black Page.....

the death of a star
last week

her number of
legacies surround
her with flowers
that cover
her whole body
transported to
the hot fires for
cremation

all those ordinary
things she mentioned
have become
celestial
hanging from one
branch of sky
to another

she was simple
and honest
having loved with
all her
sparkles.

i envy her
her death included

when i die
i am more of an
exploding star too
with all my
splendor
and flickers that
dissolve
in an immense
darkness
until none of me is
seen no more

except that black
page
that you all call
as night.
