That Inner Joy Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

That Inner Joy

Vanities are the thoughts of men
Anchored on Self and Pride
For true Wisdom can only be given
If God, in man's heart, resides.

Lost is the abject state
Of those who deny this truth,
Winds blow their minds and swayed
Their Reason, laid barren of fruit.

Negating their inherent need
In this world and living so empty,
I pray they would find it indeed
That inner joy God gives freely.

It is joy in the midst of all strife
Unshakeable peace and guidance
Joy that will stay through the end of life
Freedom in its genuine substance.
