That's Just The Way It Goes Poem by Susan Garfunkel

That's Just The Way It Goes

It's been hard to fight the tears
But I've earned my degree
Lonely days and lonely nights
Isn't nothing really new to me
Since we went our own ways
I'll tell you I feel it's so wrong
But you've got a right to be free
And I've got to just stay strong
That's Just The Way It Goes
Hope life treats you very fair
I suppose it's finally the end
My heart will go on loving you
Someday it will somehow mend
And I know with every passing day
I will go on and and be strong
And my these words will repeat
It's time to simply move on
That's Just The Way It Goes

So incredibly true! Funny how we tend to hang onto the love and memories of one love until the next one enters our lives. Great poem!
