That's So Gay Poem by Amia Loe

That's So Gay

Rating: 5.0

"That's so gay."
And I hear these words every day.
"You're haircut makes you look queer."
Do they realize that I am here?
I wish I could disappear when I hear someone say.
"That's so gay."
I wish no one would say.
"That's so gay."
Because when someone says.
"That's so gay."
I want to cry. I want to die. I'm gay but no one around me thinks that's okay. They all say.
"That's so gay."
But I'm gay. Do they really think I'm that bad?
"That's so gay."
But being gay is not a bad thing.
I won't let them use my sexuality as an insult.
From now on I'll take as a compliment.
When someone says.
"Your socks look so gay."
I'll say.
"I hope so they are rainbow socks."
When they say.
"You're haircut makes you look queer."
I'll say.
"Good now maybe I'll get a girlfriend."
They say.
" That's so gay."
" That's so gay."
" That's so gay."
" That's so gay."
Like its a bad thing but there is nothing wrong with me.
"That's so gay."
And they say it like its a bad thing.
Like I'm a horrible person.
But the only horrible people are the ones that think gay is an insult.
Being gay is not a bag thing.
I am not horrible.
"That's so gay."
So why do they think I'm a insult.
I'm okay.
Being gay is okay.
Gay isn't an insult.

Well thought out and nicely brought forth with conviction. An insightful creation. Thanks for sharing Amia.

Very well expressed and written poem. Says a lot about feelings in a very explicit and touching manner. Reaches far, we feel your pain.
