That Song Again - Poem by Valerie Lennox

There’s that song again
It follows me like a wraith
Tripping and skipping through my mind
And haunting my day

Hey do you remember when….
We used to dance

There’s that song again
It flows around me like a breeze
Flitting and floating like a butterfly
It colours my day

Hey do you remember when….
We used to sing

There’s that song again
And bittersweet it travels next to me
Slipping and sliding amongst my thoughts
It brightens my day

Hey do you remember when
We used to play

There’s that song again
And it brings you close to me
And I remember when
We used to be
