That Terminal Act Poem by Amar Agarwala

That Terminal Act

Walk alone, walk alone, walk alone
Walk alone oh my baffled soul!
All noisy carnivals left behind
Now you may tread towards your goal.

Do listen, do listen, do listen
Do listen to the divine call,
Which tells you've done with your mortal role.
'Tis time for the curtains to fall.

Prepare then, Prepare then, Prepare then
Prepare then for the final one,
That terminal act at heaven's gate
For your dress rehearsals are done.

That Terminal Act
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
THAT FINAL ACT

Our lives are akin to carnival, full of activities, fun, frolic, disappointments, people, noise and a multitude of attractions. Yet, finally we need to leave it all behind, and embark upon our journey ahead into infinity. It is here, where we walk alone, for when divinity calls, telling us that our mortal role-plays are done with, we need to hark to its diction.

Then we reach our final destination - Heaven's Gate - there we need to perform our terminal act in front of a heavenly audience. For all our role-plays here in the mortal world is nothing but dress-rehearsals to ensure that we put up our best act in front of the Lord.
