It is once again that time of year
Which fills our soul with both happiness and cheer,
And all because of God's great reason
We will all again celebrate happily this season.
We smile a little more when we walk down the street
And we give donations to the strangers we meet,
In our heart there is a new found joy
Created from a long time ago from the birth of a boy.
Our souls now take on a different flavor
Because, it's the birth of our Lord and savior,
Soon again it will be his birthday
So, in joy and happiness we worship and pray.
Now all across our great land
Parties, parades and festivals have again been planned,
Santa and toys and gifts are sold in every store
As they now again have a pricing war.
Though from the start of our countries creation
Our country is not or ever has been a true Christian nation,
Because, they're many practicing religions and beliefs
As from a tree they are many leafs.
For myself during this Christmas and Holiday time
In my soul there is happiness and gratefulness and a rhyme,
I thank God for his birth
And I pray to Jesus for peace and love on Earth.
I wish a Merry Christmas to one and all
I wish Merry Christmas to all that I have saw,
We decorate our houses and our cities and towns
One day at our Lord's feet I will be tossing crowns.
Merry Christmas I will say no matter who you are
I say it with love and peace as shined that one lonely star,
No matter of your religion or belief or from where you came
I say Merry Christmas with both love and peace as we are the same.
When I wish Happy Holidays or a Merry Christmas to you
I say it because like God, I love you too,
Merry Christmas I will always say with peace and love I send
But, sadly many just say it just to hurt and to offend.
