Thawing Ice! Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Thawing Ice!

Lust!
Undependable like the problems of the earth;
And like, the winter stream that overflows.
Thawing ice!
Swollen with melting snow;
But, when the dry season comes,
They cease to flow.
Hate!
Clothed with shame;
Like a sea with a dragon in the deep.
Of a movement! !
Swifter than a courier;
And like eagles swooping on their prey.
Hate!
You poured me out like milk and,
Curdled me like cheese.
