The Abyss Of Desire Poem by Rick Elpers

The Abyss Of Desire

To miss someone without
Even knowing who they are
To desire a caress where there's
No body to caress
To peer into the window of the soul
And no eyes to see it
Airless breath drapes
On an imaginary neck
Silence pervades loudly
The absence of companionship
Taking me across this life
With a sigh
With a hope
With a dream
Alone
