The Alzheimer’s Choir Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

The Alzheimer’s Choir

</>
We’re practicing today
A brand new song.
Ole Blue eyes sings I Gotta Be Me.
This Sinatra guy is really groovy.
Perhaps he should star in a movie!

Bee Bop Alue Da!
Biggity boogity Bam!
I could see him playing,
The King Of Siam!
Hey, why are we all standing?
And I’m not sure just where I am!

Take it from the top boys
And please don’t ever stop.
I gotta be me. I gotta be me.
Don’t spin me around,
You silly sick clown,
Cuz I gotta go pee!

Can we have extra pudding
When the chow hall opens up?
Oh darn I left my stupid teeth
In my room inside a cup!

I hope I’ve answered all questions,
For I’ve forgotten what they were.
Lets get back to our anxious choir,
Before Bob Hope our friend expires.
