Years ago I took a wife by the hand
I met and I knew her in a different land,
Then when her and I became man and wife
That truly was the beginning of all my strife.
Everyday to God I then did earnestly pray
Asking him should I go or stay,
Then one night as I slept after giving my continuous pleas
In a dream God told me to plant 4 fruit trees.
The very next day I bought four saplings
After enjoying the Apple and Pear samplings,
They were two pears and also two apple trees
As in the dream I had was the decrees.
The trees I bought I planted then in my own back yard
The dream I had I would not ignore or discard,
And as I worked and as I prayed the trees they all grew
But, sadly my wife changed worst through and through.
She became uncaring and hateful and daily I fought her
And then daily the trees I would always water,
My wife began lying and cheating and mocking and ignoring me
So, I went out and individually and caringly nurtured each tree.
Years have came and gone now there is no pain or remorse
After I finally sued my cheating wife for a divorce,
Now the Apple and the Pear trees are all full grown
And in my house I am happy as I am all alone.
I still remember the night that I had that fateful dream
When I heard the voice of God supreme,
I remember something else that night the Lord God did say
From the days and nights to him that I did pray.
I have always loved snacking on apples and pears
They are always the answer to my hunger prayers,
I once loved a woman with all my heart and soul
Pleasing her and making her happy was always my number one goal.
In the dream God told me what fruit trees to plant
As I will always with a smile and a joyful soul I will recant,
Then confusing to me, he said one will stay and will not ever become polluted
While the other will be foul and it will be uprooted.
In a dream I was never told to get married I do solemnly believe
But, I know in life many will use and abuse and will lie and deceive,
By the trees I am fed and I am kept happy in the shade
Answer to my prayer over the many years I have prayed.
