The mountains rise in Peru so high,
More than just rocks against the sky.
They're Apus, spirits, old and deep,
Guardians watching, while we sleep.
The people know, the mountains live,
Blessings and life they freely give.
Apu means 'Lord' in Quechua tongue,
Protecting crops, for everyone.
They watch the weather, make the soil,
Keep the land safe from any spoil.
Apus link us to the sky above,
A place of gods, and endless love.
The Inca prayed to mountains tall,
For sun god Inti, to hear their call.
Apu Ausangate, Apu Salkantay,
Shine down on us, and guide our way.
So look upon these peaks so grand,
Sacred spirits of the land.
Respect their power, feel their grace,
The Apus watch, in this holy place.
