The Army Of The Black Poem by Paul Warren

The Army Of The Black

The army of the black continued on
From the icy depths they marched along
On the very bottom of the seabed
Consuming all and leaving nothing instead

They had travelled across the depths of space
Forever on the move in their ungodly race
Other places had been touched in their movement
Finding nourishment where and whenever they went

Until one found the third planet so blue
They plunged through the atmosphere without much ado
Floating to the bottom of the restless sea
Growing stronger with each day forming their own army

When strong enough they commenced to march
Silently and swiftly taking every chance
To take the ground that they had found
Into the minds of the life forms that were around

The minds of the people were gently shaped
Whilst they rested and were not awake
So the conquest of the planet had occurred
And the people were changed without a word.
