The Arrival Poem by Phil Soar

The Arrival

He spoke a foreign language
When the migrant reached the beach
We couldn't understand him
As he made a heartfelt speech
We stood there until he finished
As he pleaded for asylum
Then we pulled his sodden trousers down
And kicked him up the bum
