The Battle Poem by Polly Gesulga

The Battle

Rating: 4.0

The Battle

It was a nine month long that breathe is twirl
Shield by the love from a woman like pearl
A hopeful mother bore the pain and care
For a day comes, your voice will get to stir

The joy you brought to the outside world
Is a peculiar bliss that expresses no word
Your cry, your smile are the supreme reward
By the sacrifice, your parents took so hard

Time dashes, unearthing point will now begin
Curiosities epitomize a feat of smart and sane
You want unknowns to illuminate
The innocent wants of becoming great

You’d never thought for failures to come
The many steps will make a foot to cramp
The path you walk won’t always be the same
That losing is always a part of a game

No one guesses that you will decline
Against the fight that comes in line
But the thump defeats you surprisingly
The ruin is eminent and so painstakingly

But the battle must have to start again
By the true love as the power to regain
The path to choose must bring an end
Amidst trials, strength should always reign

Now I understand that life is bewildering
You need to bend, rise and hold to descending
That success comes, when time reveals
While to wait is a test to endure ordeals

A life is a never ending battle and conquers
The strongest will fight without surrenders
It is not a race, or a game, to mark an edge
But life is a battle of love, faith and courage.

Indeed life is a battle of love, faith and courage. A lovely piece of poetry, well articulated and insightfully penned with conviction. I like the rhyme scheme of the poem. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. ➕9
