The Battle Of Life Poem by Aparna cordelia

The Battle Of Life

Death was smiling unseen;
everywhere brave hearts fought;
blood poured in like flood in the land of drought;
the general closed his eyes as screams tore;
like great men had done before;
his wish was to stop his men's pain;
and to pray for their journey to divine;
they fell like wooden dolls;
with tears and disbelief were their last calls;
he stood in the midst of this blood -filled field;
with no arms to wield;
he sensed death loop on him;
brave he was when his life was dim;
alone he walked admist his loved dead;
to fulfill his destiny's call as a army head;
fear was something he had conquered at last;
