The Best Part Poem by Weldon Davis

The Best Part

The best part of waking up
Isn't coffee in my cup
It's you in my arms
The sound of our daughter's laughter
And of course coffee (J/K)
The best part about
My morning shower isn't
Washing the grogginess of the day before
Away
It's when you join me and your
Skin touches mine
This is my heaven
These are my dreams
The best part of loving you
Is I can't count the things
That make me feel this way
The best part of
Watching a show with you
Isn't when some A list actress
Gets half naked and pouts her lips
It's when you lay your legs across mine
And I massage your feet
Yeah
The best part of
Having a meal with you
Isn't the delightful euphoric sensation
Brought to my taste buds
By some manner of
Culinary perfection
It's when I look at you
Take dainty bites of a bit of toast
And I know you're not hungry
Cause I provided for you
The best part about
Going out with you to a bar
Isn't that you're perfect arm candy
Or that you could drink most chics
Under the table
It's that you lay your claim on me
And it feels damn good to be
Wanted like that
Yeah
This is my heaven
These are my dreams
And the best part
Of it all
Is you're always there
The queen
Of
My heart
