Never judge a book by its cover, comes to mind
A handsome face, eyes as blue as the ocean.
A gaze that melts ice and turns it into wine
And your ways make me feel sublime.
Being with you is so easy, I trusted you from day one
Within days you knew more of me than anyone.
I gave my soul freely as though you are entitled to it
I no longer wonder why you couldn't fully accept it.
You were deceitful as I was honest with you
Your eyes may be blue, but your heart is dark as the night.
I came to you and there was no turning back
But you repaid my affections by lying to my heart.
I do envy her for having someone like you
So beautiful and perfect in so many ways
She gets to see you in your best and your worst days
All I have is a glimpse of what it could have been
So, now I'm back to my unhappy yet charmed life
Wishing for the tears to come
I want to mourn for what I feel is my loss
But how could I lose something that I never have?
