The wolf, once hunted, sought its peace,
But shadows fell, and safety ceased.
A blanket lifted, protections gone,
The hunter's rifle, carrying on.
The wild free wolf, a whispered plea,
Now faces dangers, still wild but free?
For traps and hunts, the doors flung wide,
Where fragile lives can no longer hide.
Wild places shrink, their borders fade,
As nature's balance is betrayed.
The wolf's sad howl, a mournful sound,
Across the hurt and wounded ground.
