The Bible Poem by Richard Ikolo

The Bible

Rating: 5.0

A book above other books, I call it.
A lamp unto my feet, I doubt not
Other books undergo edition
You have remained the same from creation
Like a mirror it reveals my sins
Like detergent it takes away my stains
Water for the soul, food for the body
Salvation for the sinner, the Bible is ready
Obedience to it brings a blessing
Rejection of its precepts invites suffering
Your letter flowing through my blood
Saturating my mind like a flood
Oh my most precious possession!
Yes, the secret of my preservation!
