The Bible Belt Poem by Randy McClave

I live in the U.S Bible Belt
Unto us that name decades ago was dealt,
Because, of our religious beliefs
Seen on all of our many streets.
We are in the area of the U.S
Where our religious belief we will always stress,
It is where our beliefs do rest
We are chiefly in the South and the Midwest.
We are noted for our religious fundamentalism
We call it here southern Americanism,
Here we are religious in every decree
Dating back to 1925-30.
We are those states of the south
Where Protestant fundamentalism is dominant from everyone's mouth,
We will proudly say that we are a Christian
To anyone and everyone that will believe and listen.
We are known as the Bible Belt
Unto our lord God we have knelt,
Everyone in the U.S knows of us
As we preach our love and as we follow Jesus.
We are known as the divorce belt as well
Also the teen pregnancy and the gay porn belt we will tell,
The obesity and the homicide belt we are also known
The poverty and the smokers belt we also are, we will moan.
We are the infant and the low life expectancy life belt here
And happily we say we are the largest MAGA belt in America we cheer,
We believe we are the greatest belt in the nation
From man's own beliefs, sins and greeds creation.
