Once there were warriors who's colours were red
Wise men with ideas of gold
Once there were young men with dreams in their head
They'd sit and they'd drink in the tales of the old
For that's where the learning was
There was a God who was vengeful and vain
The air filled with Angels that no one can see
They were the bringers of fortune and pain
Promised for all of eternity
And that gave the people pause
An horizon filled with potential uncertain
Monsters in waiting for those who would try
Whispers of lands in precarious places
Beckoning brave hearts to give it a try
Promising wealth and applause
Once there was a hell that made everyone fear
A result and effect of your deeds
Ignore the teachings and you would pay dear
Now they change nature to satisfy needs
The scientists Bible of Cause
There was a place and a purpose for all
A direction to walk in this way
An edge to the Earth over which one could fall
Now they emulate God and they say
'We're rewriting all of his laws
Rewrite them then on vainglorious man
Rewrite them all at your peril
But do not forget who is judge and who can
Place eternity into a barrel
And in doing so change hands for paws
You've reaped your rewards for your bravery and valour
You've harvested answers, their secrets employ
But do not forget whome the Gods choose to favour
In the end they choose to destroy
And at their most auspicious hour
