The Biblical Poet, Isaiah. Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

The Biblical Poet, Isaiah.

In old Jerusalem, long ago,
Isaiah spoke, his words did flow.

He warned of idols, false and vain,
Of wronging poor, of selfish gain.
God's judgment comes, a fiery test,
To Israel and Judah, unrest.

But hope he held, a brighter day,
When broken hearts would find their way.
A King to come, a light to see,
A world restored, and people free.

A servant meek, with pain he'd bear,
Our sins he'd take, our burdens share.
Through suffering deep, redemption's grace,
A loving Savior, in his place.

'Wonderful Counselor, ' Isaiah sings,
Bringing peace on hopeful wings.
'Fear not, ' he cries, 'for I am near', God's comfort calms, and dries each tear.

With poet's heart, and visions bright,
He showed the darkness, and the light.
Of coming hope, and God's own hand,
To heal the world, and bless the land.
