The Big One Poem by Kevin Patrick

The Big One

Rating: 5.0

you tempt the grave to face the wave
the one that wakes Poseidon
the surf is up your fears locked up
as your heart beat starts to ripen

on the board your standing tall
against the growling tide
giving yourself to destiny
against an ocean made of sky

The wind is hurtling a wall
that throws you like a rag doll
fate is knocking at your door
inside oceans descending squall

The tide is bearing down at you
Like an avalanche of heaven
60 feet of rage comes tumbling
your doomsday's now in session

' You tempt the grave to face the wave' great opening line from an unforgettable poem. To my favorites.

What a beautiful poem with superb imagery! So gripping, I could feel the fury of a giant wave. Each and every stanza delivers an unforgettable scene.
