The Birds And The Beach Poem by Jose Mathews Kannamplal

The Birds And The Beach

The Birds and The Beach

I Claim no special inspiration, yet there is something bubbling, inspiring in me
Therefore took patience and endurance to sit down on that stirring shoreline
To watch the romance of water and the wind which takes me to higher mood?
Get solace, comfort, and observe the magnificent plight of birds coming on the beach

A swift rush of cherished thought of nature came to my innermost being
The mysteries of nature go beyond human intellect and wisdom and defy
Human explanation, so is true with mysteries of life wrapped up in
riddle said my soul
In God, vest secrets of any riddle wrapped up in the mystery inside an enigma.

Sometimes on my beach I see magnificent flocks of sea birds, gulls, pelicans,
Curlews and sand pipers, all of them coming to rest on that fair sand,
Some are weary with their long migratory flights up and down over gusty Ocean -
Flyway and transit here, to rest their wings and preen their glimmering plumage!

The Sea gulls dressed in their immaculate white breeding plumage
Wheeled in the wind with their wild cries heard far away sharp and piercing
Cuts through the roar of the surf below, and flocks of sander lings in glory
Flying in tight flashing formation slowly beating up the wings in harmony!

A large group of cormorants flying over the beautiful sea edge with sharp eyes
Just off shore pelicans and white winged terns are soaring over the blue ocean
And diving beyond the breakers to take fish that surge to the surface often
And comes out in random speed with fish in their beak still striving to escape!

The brilliant soaring of these striking sea birds has fascinated me always
Imposing are the charming birds that ride the thermals, the seagulls, Pelicans,
Huge albatross, Hawks and lesser shore birds soar on the ever-moving ocean,
And up drafts with outstanding beauty and grace in their skilful flight

The red- tailed hawks, kestrels, and even the crow ride the thermals
And rummage for food along the bluffs, with jet-black plumage
A group of cormorants flying, the white winged terns soaring and diving
Beyond the breakers and taking fishes that surge to the surface in school

The movements of their wings are as graceful in motion as any
Ballerina floating across the illuminated stage of a gorgeous theatre
Herons and egrets soar on the warm wind high along those cliffs,
And their stunning snow white wings sharp against the blue sky.

Oh what a beautiful sight is the movement of birds in lines without noise,
In special formation with gorgeous colours, my eyes refused the withdrawal
Their ceaseless flight took me sore to worlds of profound heights unknown.
Instantly my spirit was inspired, my emotions moved and my whole being

Was galvanised by the splendour and the glory of that very enchanting sight
Out of that silence, out of that stillness, out of that serenity I heard an inner
Voice of God in accents only His, These birds and beach are designed and
Ordered to enrich your days and enliven your world, and they are my gifts.

My bonuses, and it come at no cost of yours and they will not charge you any fee
They are here for those who will pause to receive their uplift and inspiration
In that quite moments I sat alone in gentle communion with God and sensed a
Fleeting glory of His majestic person who sent me these for me to ponder and wonder.

Oh! I thought, sometimes marvellous blessings comes from God on soaring wings
In abundance I can scarcely comprehend the outpouring of His generosity
There are days when I stand in owe and wonder and lift my heart in praise and
My spirit in adoration for all the bounties He bestowed upon the beach of my life.
