A BLEEDING BIRD
Anjali Sahoo

Next to the cross, beside a hot spring,
A bleeding bird flapped, with a world on wings!

The cactus bush near went recurrently red,
A rolling sea sought refuge, in each drop it shed! !

I rinsed its wound, the winged world nursed!
I bandaged the bird! A blood thirst doused! !

I saw how a world whirled after a shot!
How it shattered a sky; to mere vanishing dots! !

When a life is blown, to quench a bullet's lust;
The door of humanity slams with a bang and bursts! !

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Really, nothing can quench the bullet 's thurst or lust.It is devoid of humanity. The images and concepts held herein are of sheer poetic worth as they divulge the moral degeneration of man in violence and bloodshed.
