The Bloody End Poem by priscah Mutswenje

The Bloody End

Boom Boom Boom, these are abnormal sounds
Break my heart into pieces and litter my maths
And shutter the sweet dreams of my youths
Its sharply pierces my peaceable skin, kiths

The certainly of elimination is such an abomination
Unspeakable like taboo or bazoo in this nation
What is the joy in slithering, smothering in damnation
Young, old, vibrant, ladies and gents end in ruination

The pleasure to explore leisure by shooting
Installing a treasure and military training in killing
Like beasts we hunt and pant dissolve a significant being
Into nothingness men choke helpless wailing winning

zijIn malls we walk in fear of the moments unknown
Wishing not to meet their time and chime to mourn
Hoping against all hope they reinforce a strong lawn
In institutions they choose and scratch for safety sown

Sit think and pick the kind and mindful choices
Behave save souls from the cave of death notices
Mortal is a being, listen to their deafening voices
Pleading for an hour, a day, and year of vices

Created in God's image man needs be humane
Save the souls people save the skin of all fellow man
We plead and preach against the spirit antihuman
We counter malice, evil and violence of taxman

We see heaven on earth with no violence
We see the sky so clean and free from intolerance
We smell safety surrounding us with prudence
We feel sweet humanity landing in opulence

Away with extremism the terminator of life
Things fail to fall apart in this aspect of highlife
Only if we invest our energies in fair folklife
Save selfishness and internalize the forelife

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
