The Breakers Poem by Dr Vidya Hariharan

The Breakers

Sometimes life, like the breakers
large, and takes you unawares
You stand clutching thoughts,
memories, close
hoping to be safely afloat
till the waves pass
behind, scraping along
your feet. rough, sandy,
sticky, blue-green waves tickle.
happiness and awe in equal measure
overwhelm at sunset and sunrise.
