The Bridge Poem by dianne anderson

The Bridge

Rating: 5.0

l wish that l could build a bridge that spanned across this land
A bridge that stretched so far to touch everybody's hand
A bridge of courage, love and trust to wipe out greed and hate
This bridge of mine made not of steel before it is too late
A bridge that stood to teach us survival without war
A bridge that would unite us and killing was no more
It would hold us strong and straight this dream it could come true
All it takes is you and me to make this world anew
Open your eyes and see this bridge that stands in front of you
Imagine you can reach out to all things right and true
My bridge no-one could tear down nobody could destroy
Together we could build this bridge for every girl and boy.
