The Broken One Poem by Insignia Rose

The Broken One

Loveless heartbeat,
growing cold;
Mouth torn open,
leaving, my soul.

A glassy stare,
pierces the flesh,
clawing my back,
my wounds now fresh.

Scream in agony,
a bittersweet sound.
Of my mind,
insane and broken loud;

Fingers crack, snap and break,
will is shattered,
along with my faith.

Raspy breath escapes my throat,
as I try to lift onto the boat.

But how it sails,
sails away,
How it glides,
Glides away...

Broken and dying,
I start to bleed out,
But not before,
they give me one last sound;

A trumpet blares,
and my ears go numb,
as they wave,
to the Broken One.
